I Write About Money
I got my start by launching my personal finance blog Money Buffalo in 2015—which I sold in 2023—and accepting freelance gigs on Upwork. Through diligent posting sharing my personal successes and mistakes I was able to turn a part-time writing side hustle into a full-time income stream.
It’s been a fun journey so far that includes opportunities to connect with other stellar writers along the way and have bylines with award-winning blogs like Wallet Hacks, Well Kept Wallet, and Frugal Rules. I’ve also had the opportunity to write for national publications that I read growing before being a money-making writer was on my radar and only dreamed of writing for (it’s a dream come true!!).
With that spirit in mind, I’m gear to write about almost anything linking back to personal finance or travel. It doesn’t matter if it’s for a small or large website. Each platform has its specialty and I love the flexibility of learning about so many money-related topics.

In college, I studied International Studies and Political Science. Pure politics isn’t my cup of tea these days (I save that for the Beltway media), but I’m happy to analyze certain political topics and social causes at local, state, national, and global levels.

- Father of four children (we’re still in the diaper stage of life)
- We love vacationing in Hilton Head Island (your kids will love Gregg Russell)
- Love reading about ancient and modern history
- My family is beginner vegetable gardeners (with many learning experiences)
- Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies
- Studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain (Sevilla FC is my favorite soccer team)
- I can drive a stick shift
- I was a transportation operations supervisor for seven years (unknown to me at the time, I took an 80% payout for a full year and learned to live on a tight budget)
- Useless knowledge is one of my leisurely hobbies
